About
The paranaple convention centre is a contemporary conference and events venue in the heart of North-West Tasmania.
The spacious and flexible venue offers modern facilities and professional staff, all within a stone’s throw of accommodation, restaurants, artisan markets, activities and attractions. The main auditorium of the paranaple convention centre has floor to ceiling windows to take advantage of the waterside location with spectacular view of the mouth of the Mersey River and Bass Strait.
Devonport & the paranaple precinct
The 1.8ha paranaple precinct is in the heart of Devonport and houses the paranaple convention centre on the top floor of the paranaple centre (Devonport Council, Devonport Library, & Cafe). Next door is the paranaple arts centre which houses the Devonport Regional Gallery, our Visitor Information Centre and the 400 seat proscenium arch Town Hall Theatre.
Across Market Square, with its 6×3.5m outdoor LED screen, is Market Square Pavilion, an alfresco area with restaurants, eateries and bars. Parking is provided by the multi-storey 500 space car park and everything is a short stroll to the picturesque Mersey River.

Testimonials
Devonport’s paranaple centre is TMEC’s preferred conference venue. Until 2021, TMEC’s strategy was to rotate the hosting of our annual conference to venues around the State. After hosting at the paranaple centre in 2021 we decided to return in 2022, when really, we should have gone back to Hobart. The state-of-the-art purpose-built facility and knowledgeable staff make delivery of our two-day conference easy. Felicity and her team ensure that our experience is seamless, from the initial booking enquiry, right through to the delivery of the conference.
When hosting 40+ speakers over two days, its invaluable to have AV staff on site who are adept at managing last minute requests, a hybrid model of online/in-person delivery and USB sticks thrown over the desk as the speaker is walking towards the stage!
Our conference includes trade booths which are easily accommodated in the ample space provided in the paranaple centre. The three large display screens and inbuilt sound system ensure that speakers are easily seen and heard, regardless of where delegates are seated.
Having a well thought out space that caters to all of our conference needs is an asset to both Devonport and the Northwest Coast of Tasmania.

SEGRA places immense weight on delivering its national conferences in communities and venues that can demonstrate sustainable and transformational economic development. Our 26th national conference was held at the paranaple Convention Centre in August 2022. The Devonport City Council through its Living City vision has revitalised Devonport with the paranaple Convention Centre in Market Square as its jewel. SEGRA delegates travelled from across rural and remote Australia. They were in awe of the Convention Centre, its facilities and supporting amenities. 98% of delegates who completed our post event survey rated the venue and food as outstanding and 82% indicated they would return to Devonport as a repeat visitor.
The paranaple Convention Centre lead team which included Felicity Duff (Function and Events Coordinator) and Matt Groom (audio visual) were exceptional. From our initial enquiry, famil tour and monthly online meetings through to the two and a half days of our conference, the team was well prepared and anticipated our needs. The paranaple Convention Centre provided us with multiple configuration options that enabled us to hold plenary, workshops, concurrent sessions as well as networking in the one venue. SEGRA cannot speak highly enough of all the Convention Centre team and the venue – it is an exceptional venue for team Tasmania!

Testimonials
Informa Australia has just run its 4th Annual Tasmania Energy Development Conference at the paranaple Convention. I need to acknowledge the professionalism and friendliness of the whole team. It is nice to be back at a venue where the team seem genuinely invested in the success of our event.
In the lead up to this event, I was in Adelaide at a very large summit and exhibition and was not easily contactable. I would normally send all our catering and audio-visual requirements through at least 4 weeks out. However, knowing how exceptional your team are and having been to the paranaple CC before, the team was quick to put everything together and was extremely supportive and caring that I knew I didn’t need to be concerned. Your team are an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Testimonials
I am writing to pass on our appreciation for all the hard work involved in hosting our State Council and associated events last weekend.
Many members have commented to me how impressed they were with the venues, the service, and the efforts of the staff. The paranaple centre is world class, and we were very grateful for the opportunity to use this facility.
I would particularly like to highlight the assistance provided by Felicity Duff. Felicity went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success and we are exceedingly grateful for her hard work. The event would not have run as smoothly or as well without her assistance.
Would you please extend my thanks to Megan, Mike and Matt, and the many other staff, for all of their hard work and excellent customer service.
We look forward to the next occasion we can work with your venue and team.
Peter, Liberal State Council
