Each evening, Devonport’s foreshore transforms with From Sky to Sea, an unforgettable sound and light show that tells the captivating story of the Mersey River, from its origins at Cradle Mountain to its meeting with Bass Strait.
For visitors attending events at paranaple Convention Centre, From Sky to Sea offers an excellent way to unwind after a busy day of conferences or meetings. The show provides a relaxing and immersive experience, allowing visitors to connect with the natural beauty and history of Devonport, all just moments away from the convention centre.
From Sky to Sea is an uplifting journey that takes you through Devonport’s rich history and stunning natural landscapes. The show begins with the Palawa creation story during the darkest hour of night, and as the dawn breaks, the Mersey River’s journeys through the mountains, past fields of vibrant poppies and farmlands. As evening falls, Devonport’s urban landscape comes to life, leading into a dramatic, thunderous night-time storm over Bass Strait.
The show is designed to be explored from multiple perspectives, offering projections across the grass, trees, and gardens, towering video elements, and dramatic searchlights on the rotunda pillars. Moving around gives you a new experience with each view, making it the perfect show for exploration.
